Acrylic Paint Pouring Class

Experience the joys of fluid art. Participants will learn about the various technique’s fluid art has to offer (straight pours, ring pours, marble pours, blooms, swipes, chain pulls and more). The instructor will discuss and sort out the confusion in pouring mediums while learning how to mix the paints. The instructor will talk about how different paint consistencies are implemented for each technique. Participants will learn all the ways to create functional art using fluid art to make things like coasters, jewelry, jewelry boxes, clocks, lazy Susan’s, and more. Then participants will get to create their own one-of-a-kind masterpiece using one of the techniques discussed. Paintings will need to stay at the Corry Hi-Ed until they dry. It can take up to 4-5 days but usually dries within a day or 2. Participants will be informed when their pieces are ready for pickup. Painting can go home when wet, if needed, but it’s at participant's own risk of damage to the painting during transport.

This workshop will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5p-7p at the Corry Hi-Ed. The cost to register is $60 and includes all materials. Pre-registration is required.

PLCB-Owner/Manager Training

Owner/Manager Training is offered and required by the PA Liquor Control Board as part of the Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP), which focuses on those individuals most responsible for determining daily operations and policies of the licensed establishment — the owner and manager.  Complete training requirements and licensing information can be found on lcb.pa.gov. This local training session will be offered on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 8:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Corry Higher Education Council. All sessions are free and require registration on the PLCB website at https://www.lcb.pa.gov 

CPR & First Aid Certification Training

Certified instructor Melissa Turben will lead an upcoming training for CPR & First Aid certification through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute.  Topics to be covered will include causes of heart attacks and strokes with necessary First Aid, diabetic emergencies, seizures, and heat/cold emergencies. AED and community Hands-Only CPR training will be provided, with mouth-to-mouth CPR to be discussed. Training and certifications meet job-related requirements as defined by regulatory authorities such as OSHA, The Joint Commission, and state offices of EMS, Education, Transportation, and Health. CPR & First Aid Certification Training will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4p-8p at the Corry High School Career & Technology Center.  The cost is $50. A CPR/First Aid pocket field guide will be included in the cost of the class.  Participants must be at least age 15 and be accompanied by an adult if under 18. Seating is limited. Fall Mushroom Foraging

Join other mushroom foraging enthusiasts as instructor Frank Baressi delves into the world of wild local mushrooms for the Fall season. This class will cover some mycology basics, mushroom hunting safety, a basic overview of local edible species, and the process of identifying unknown species. This is a hybrid class consisting of one hour of traditional classroom learning in the Bracken room at the Corry Hi-Ed followed by 90-minutes of “field” learning at Mead Park. At Mead Park, participants will be guided on how to find the best places to look for mushrooms and will get an opportunity to get hands-on experience hunting for mushrooms.

The class will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4p-6:30p. This is a hybrid class with classroom instruction starting at the Corry Hi-Ed from 4p-5p, and field instruction at Mead Park from 5p-6:30p. The instructor will provide specific instructions for the meeting spot at Mead Park during the classroom instruction portion of the class. The cost to register for the class is $20. Beginner and Refresher Crochet Course

Calendar Oct 1, 2025 at 5 pm, runs for 4 weeks

How to Crochet for Beginners is ideal for those who have never crocheted but are looking to learn a lifelong artform. In this 4-week course, students will learn the different types of stitching, how to read patterns, how to speak the language of “crochet,” and much more. There will be information sheets provided for students to take home for continued practice and learning. The $45 registration fee includes materials (H hook and yarn). The course will be held on Wednesdays starting October 1, 2025, through October 22, 2025, from 5p-7p at the Corry Higher Education Council. Preregistration is required.

During her career, she has operated as the communicationcoordinator for multiple large community initiatives, served various roles at localuniversities, and thrived as a frequent certified trainer across Pennsylvania on a widevariety of topics. Bierer is a marketing manager for DBC Remodeling & Constructionand has a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication.

ServSafe - Food Safety Training

The ServSafe Food Safety program is for individuals who are serving as managers or are in a supervisory role requiring certification. Upon successful completion, participants will receive the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate. This training meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act. This program will be offered on two consecutive Thursdays, October 9, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and October 16, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; a lunch break will be provided. Participants will sit for their certification examination on Day 2, between 11 a.m. and noon. Introduction to Yoga: A Beginner-Friendly Workshop

This Introduction to Yoga workshop is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about yoga or looking to return to their practice with greater confidence. Designed with accessibility in mind, this class is ideal for beginners, individuals recovering from injuries, those with larger bodies, or anyone who prefers a slower, more mindful pace.

In this supportive and welcoming environment, you will learn:

  • Breathing Techniques: Discover how to use your breath to support movement and relaxation.
  • Postures: Explore foundational yoga poses including standing, seated, and reclining postures.
  • Alignment: Understand how to move safely and effectively with proper body alignment.
  • Yoga Terms: Get familiar with common yoga vocabulary to help you feel more at ease in future classes.

No experience or flexibility required—just bring an open mind, a willingness to explore, and your own yoga mat.

**Participants must be at least 16 years old to attend.

**Participants are required to bring their own yoga mat (not provided) and sign a waiver to attend the class.

Tara Graham holds a BFA in Graphic Design and is a highly credentialed holistic health practitioner with over 20 years of teaching experience in yoga, mindfulness, and nutrition. She is a 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher through the Himalayan Institute, where she also completed her 200-hour foundational training. Tara is a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist (200-hour AYS) recognized by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), and a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

Her additional certifications include Yin Yoga (Yoga International), MELT Method Instruction (Longevity Fitness Inc.), and MindBody Therapy (Embodied Philosophy). Tara offers public classes, workshops, and private wellness services, including health counseling, holistic education, somatic therapy, and behavior modification coaching.
