Beginner and Refresher Crochet Course

How to Crochet for Beginners is ideal for those who have never crocheted but are looking to learn a lifelong artform. In this 4-week course, students will learn the different types of stitching, how to read patterns, how to speak the language of “crochet,” and much more. There will be information sheets provided for students to take home for continued practice and learning. The $45 registration fee includes materials (H hook and yarn). The course will be held on Wednesdays starting October 1, 2025, through October 22, 2025, from 5p-7p at the Corry Higher Education Council. Preregistration is required.

Paint & Sip - Autumn Theme

Bring your friends, favorite drinks (BYOB - alcohol permitted) and snacks, and enjoy a fun filled evening creating your very own masterpiece during a ‘paint & sip’! Students will paint an Autumn landscape to enjoy for the Fall season. Instructor Martha will be there to guide you through every step. The cost to register is $30.00 and includes all supplies. Drawing with Colored Pencils

From the instructor, Tami Hritzay: Colored Pencils are an interesting medium. Whether you want to draw realistically or abstract, all you need to learn is how to layer colors. This workshop will uncover the useful techniques you can use to create realistic plants and show the texture of animal fur. During the workshop, students will get the opportunity to use professional colored pencils and erasers provided by the instructor. *Students will need bring their own colored pencils to use, but the instructor will be providing paper.

Tami Hritzay is a mixed media artist and art teacher. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Art Education from Edinboro University. Teaching art has lead her from the Navajo Reservation to Chautauqua Institute in NY. Her students include kids from around the world, doctors, lawyers, retired judges, anyone that has an interest in improving their art. A cancer survivor of 59 years, Tami, loves life. She encourages her students to create art in the forms of drawing, painting, and sculpture. "Every day you can walk, talk, and breathe on your own, it's a good day" is her motto.
