Beginner Grant Writing Series - Part III: Identifying Funding Opportunities

Calling all grant writers!! Don’t miss this amazing FREE opportunity to sharpen your grant writing skills during this three-part series for basic grant writing. Participants will be introduced to all aspects of the grant writing process. During session III, participants will learn useful tips and tools for finding potential grant sources and how to develop relationships with funders. This series is designed for staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations interested in learning more about writing grants. Each of the three sessions will have a different topic – attend one or all three sessions (*Attending ALL sessions for more effective grant writing is HIGHLY advised):

  • Jan. 7: Organizational Readiness        
  • Jan. 14: Basic Grant Application Components        
  • Jan. 21: Identifying Funding Opportunities

Each session will be on Wednesdays starting January 7 - January 21 (three sessions total) from 5:30p – 6:30p at the Corry Higher Education Council. ServSafe - Food Safety Training

The ServSafe Food Safety program is for individuals who are serving as managers or are in a supervisory role requiring certification. Upon successful completion, participants will receive the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate. This training meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act. This is a 2-day program that will be held on February 10, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and February 17, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; a lunch break will be provided. Participants will sit for their certification examination on Day 2, between 11 a.m. and noon. Introduction to Cricut: Beginner Demonstration

This two-part introductory demonstration course provides participants with a foundational understanding of Cricut cutting machines and their creative applications. Over the course of 3 hours (2 days), students will learn essential machine functions, explore the Cricut Design Space software, and complete a guided vinyl decal project to be completed at home. Instruction will cover materials selection, basic design editing tools, proper cutting and weeding techniques, and practical troubleshooting strategies. By the conclusion of the class, participants will have gained the knowledge and skills needed to independently create simple Cricut projects with confidence. This is a demonstration course - no need to bring your own Cricut device.

AI in Action: Pilots, Plans & Possibilities -Examples of initiatives across compliance, certifications, inspections planning, finance, tooling, and more. With projects ranging from early ideation to full-on piloting - this is an opportunity for information sharing so the group can learn from each other.

There will be a round table discussion giving the manufacturer's the opportunity to discuss what their current AI plan is and what they are doing to get their data prepared. There will also be discussion regarding assistance for technology education and implementation, including grant funding opportunities.

Designed for staff and volunteers of nonprofits interested in learning more about writing grants, session topics are:

March 4: Creating & Using Logic Models - Session one of the three-part Advanced Grant Writing Workshop will provide an overview of logic models and how to create and use a logic model in project planning.

March 11: Evaluation & Budget Planning - Session two of the three-part Advanced Grant Writing Workshop will focus on developing meaningful evaluation strategies and tools and preparing realistic and thoughtful budgets - key pieces to any grant application.

March 18: Understanding the Grant Review Process - In this final session of the Advanced Grant Writing Workshop, participants will learn about grant review processes, include peer review and assessment rubrics.
