Nutrition Links is a free program with Penn State Extension that features healthy eating tips covering smart shopping, food preparation, and delicious recipes. Topics include portion sizes, moving more, smart drink choices, meal planning, shopping on a budget, adding fruits and vegetables and safe food preparation. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for attending all six sessions. This free six-session course will be offered on Wednesdays, May 1 – June 5, 2024, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Corry Higher Education Council. Medicaid Enrollment Assistance Presentation

Choosing a Medicaid plan doesn't have to be difficult. Lawanda Johnson of the PA Enrollment Assistance Program (PA-EAP) will be presenting information for Medical Assistance (MEDICAID)-eligible consumers including reviewing eligibility, the enrollment and transfer processes, and HealthChoices options and resources. Bring your questions about health plans, doctors and medical specialists in the area. The free information session will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 5 p.m. at the Corry Higher Education Council. JES: Addressing Mental Healthcare in Rural Communities

Knowing where to start when addressing mental health can be daunting and a challenging task. Many who need help are unsure of what services are available or where to start. Brenton Song, D.O., a psychiatrist at LECOM Behavioral Health, highlights mental health issues and explores how to navigate treatment and care in a rural setting to understand the importance of care in this setting. The presentation provided by the Jefferson Educational Society will be held at the Corry Higher Education Council on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 6p – 7:30p. When everyone isn’t held accountable to the same rules and expectations morale takes a significant hit. So how do we get back to holding ourselves and others accountable? Learn the language of accountability (it should be positive, not negative!) and how to set expectations S.M.A.R.T.E.R.
