ServSafe - Food Safety Training

The ServSafe Food Safety program is for individuals who are serving as managers or are in a supervisory role requiring certification. Upon successful completion, participants will receive the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate. This training meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act. This program will be offered on two consecutive Thursdays, October 9, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and October 16, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; a lunch break will be provided. Participants will sit for their certification examination on Day 2, between 11 a.m. and noon. The cost is $165, which includes the study book and examination fee. QuickBooks for Beginners - Level I

QuickBooks is the industry standard for small and medium business bookkeeping and an in-demand skill for today’s workplace. Certified CPA Jim Embrey of Kersey & Associates, PC in Warren, PA will be your instructor for this beginner’s class. This class is for new users and will cover subjects such as how to restore and open files, change preferences, view and adjust reports, and how to back up a QB file. In addition, you will work on mastery of the following BIG 4 areas; writing checks, making deposits, performing monthly bank reconciliations and making adjusting journal entries. Lastly if time permits, you will work on customer invoices and receipts and how to set up vendor bills and payments. The class is more geared toward the desktop version of QuickBooks. QuickBooks - Level II

Certified CPA Jim Embrey of Kersey & Associates, PC in Warren, PA will take your basic knowledge of QuickBooks to the next level in this Level II class. After a brief review of Level I, you will be introduced to the difference between cash versus accrual basis accounting and recognizing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Become proficient at creating invoices, receiving payments, entering, and paying bills and sales tax. (Completion of Level I class is not a prerequisite; basic working knowledge of QuickBooks is required to register for this class.) NWIRC - Blueprint Reading and GD&T

The focus of this course is to strengthen the blueprint and schematic reading skills of shop personnel, operators, engineers, and managers. The course is designed to help those who are using blueprints and/or schematics to make decisions and to help solve problems as well as prepare participants to be able to effectively read and interpret technical drawings. Participants will apply the principles to hands-on exercises to reinforce the learning. This is a foundational course that will prepare participants for advanced learning in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) as well as Statistical Process Control (SPC) topics. All participants are required to bring in sample blueprints and drawings as well as parts and gauges. Additionally, the instructor will supply blueprints and drawings for classroom discussion.
Learning Targets:
-How to read and interpret the standard type mechanical engineering drawing
-How to interpret technical data on the drawings such as part numbers, drawing scale, revisions, notes and dimensions
-How to analyze and demonstrate the purpose of lines and their distinct definition
-How to interpret and demonstrate the purpose of symbols, abbreviations and dimensional values found on engineering drawings
-How to read the various types of measuring instruments such as architectural, mechanical scale, and a steel rule
-How to interpret bill of materials and/or parts lists
-The different types of views, examples include front, top, side, and section cuts
-Prepare participants for advanced discussions in GD&T.

NWIRC - 8D Problem Solving
with Max Krug

This is a highly interactive workshop with a focus of applying the concepts of problem solving and root cause analysis to a hands-on exercise. The course is designed to help your team understand the 8D (Eight Disciplines) process and how it is used to define the problem, analyze the problem, develop a plan to solve the problem, and implement the solution and conduct proper follow-up for any type of problem. The workshop will focus on the 5W2H process for problem investigation, and use of histogram, Pareto chart, scatter diagram, cause-and-effect diagram, in addition to the 5 Why technique to determine root cause. Participants will gain experience with the tools by applying the principles to the hands-on exercise to reinforce the learning.

• What is the 8D process and the eight disciplines
• How to apply the 8D process to any type of problem, not just quality defects
• How to apply the 7 basics problem solving tools to a problem
• How to properly conduct an investigation using the 5W2H process
• How to differentiate between symptoms and primary factors

PLCB-Owner/Manager Training

Owner/Manager Training is offered and required by the PA Liquor Control Board as part of the Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP), which focuses on those individuals most responsible for determining daily operations and policies of the licensed establishment — the owner and manager. Enjoying Digital Photography
with Corry Area Photography Club

Members of the Corry Area Photography club present ‘Enjyoing Digital Photography’. This class will enable students to take their cameras off AUTO mode and learn to make excellent photos using many of the functions found in the camera. Included in the sessions: manual mode, aperture mode, shutter mode, ISO, white balance, metering, and other shooting basics as well as lighting, composition, and many other items which will raise your photos from average to wall-worthy. During the teaching sessions, members of the Corry Area Photography Club will be present to help you find the settings on your camera, and to help participants utilize the tips and suggestions made by the club members teaching the class. This will be extremely hands-on, so no one feels confused or left behind. Participants will practice as many of the lessons as possible while in class and give you time to practice at home. Students are required to bring their own cameras.
