In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the unique needs and captivating behaviors of carnivorous plants such as Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, and sundews. Guided by an expert, you'll discover the best plants for bog gardens, how to mimic their natural environment, and the essentials of planting and caring for these extraordinary species.
Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll create your own mini bog garden to take home, complete with tips on proper soil, water requirements, and ideal placement. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner, this workshop offers the perfect introduction to building a thriving ecosystem of these amazing plants. Join us for a fun and educational day of gardening and discovery, and leave with a piece of nature that’s as intriguing as it is beautiful!
What to Expect:
- Guided Instructions: Steph will walk you through the steps of selecting, planting, and arranging a variety of carnivorous plants, ensuring that even beginners feel confident.
- Plant Care Tips: Learn how to create a naturalistic bog environment, and how to care for your carnivorous plants at home!
- Materials Provided: All materials, including a selection of plants, soil, moss, a colorful selection of vessels for planting in, and decorations will be provided. Feel free to bring any personal touches or additional decorations.

In a fast-paced, unpredictable world, finding calm in the midst of chaos is not only possible—it’s essential. This class offers a gentle, supportive space to explore practical tools for grounding yourself when life feels overwhelming. Through the powerful combination of guided visualization and nervous system regulation techniques, you’ll learn how to anchor your attention and restore a sense of inner balance. *Students are encouraged to bring yoga mats to sit on; chairs will also be provided alternatively. No experience necessary.

PLCB-Owner/Manager Training

Owner/Manager Training is offered and required by the PA Liquor Control Board as part of the Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP), which focuses on those individuals most responsible for determining daily operations and policies of the licensed establishment — the owner and manager. Complete training requirements and licensing information can be found on lcb.pa.gov. This local training session will be offered on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 8:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Corry Higher Education Council.
