Presented by the Autism Society of Northwestern PA, Executive Director Tish Barlett offers an informative and insightful training session designed for families, caretakers, and community members who want to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Autism, including its communication, sensory, and behavioral aspects. We will explore various traits associated with the Autism spectrum and provide practical strategies for supporting individuals with ASD.
Topics covered include an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder, understanding communication challenges and strategies, sensory sensitivities and how they effect behavior, behavioral traits and coping mechanisms, ways to support individuals with Autism in daily life, and accessing resources and getting help.
By the end of this session, participants will have a greater understanding and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorder, empowering them to provide better support to individuals with ASD in their families, communities, and beyond. Join us to increase your knowledge, understanding, and ability to make a positive difference in the lives of those with Autism.
