The Vision of Project NePTWNE

with Dr. Sherri "Sam" Mason

$5

Building on its history of aquatic research and education, Gannon launched Project NePTWNE in mid-2022. Project NePTWNE, which stands for Nano and Polymer Technologies for Water Networks of Erie, is an initiative focused on water quality and economic revitalization through the three pillars of MEASUREMENT, MITIGATION, and MANUFACTURING. The newly opened Center for Lake Erie Education and Research (CLEER) within the waterfront Blasco Library serves as the cornerstone for the Project NePTWNE initiative by providing an educational outreach space that will highlight local measurements leading to mitigation through a more informed public. Come learn more about Project NePTWNE from its inaugural director, Dr. Sherri “Sam” Mason.

This presentation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5:30p-7p at the Corry Higher Education Council. The cost is $5 to register. To register, please visit www.corryhied.org or call 814-664-9405.

Dr. Sherri A. Mason (aka “Sam”) earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her doctorate in Chemistry at the University of Montana as a NASA Earth System Science scholar. Her research group was among the first to study the prevalence and impact of plastic pollution within freshwater ecosystems. She currently serves as the Director of Project NePTWNE at Gannon University.
