Placer.ai for Local Business: Turning Foot Traffic into Insight
with Dr. Matthew Platz
Free
Hosted by Dr. Matthew Platz, Executive Director of the Corry Higher Education Council, this workshop includes a 60-minute demonstration and hands-on walk through Placer.ai technology for local businesses. This training is for owners and managers of brick-and-mortar businesses—retail, restaurants, services, attractions, nonprofits—who want clearer answers to questions like: Who is visiting my location? When? From where? How do I compare to competitors? Where should I market next?
What you will learn:
-Foot-traffic trends: See visit volume and repeat-visitor patterns over time.
-Trade-area mapping: Identify your true customer catchment areas by census block/group.
-Visitor profiles: Explore demographics, home/work origins, and day-part behavior.
-Competitive benchmarking: Compare your location to peers and nearby competitors.
-Site & campaign decisions: Use data to choose new locations and target advertising.
-Events & seasonality: Measure the impact of promotions and local events.
-Reporting basics: Build dashboards and export visuals to share with your team.
What to expect:
-A plain-language tour of Placer.ai’s interface and core reports.
-Real local examples to make the data actionable for Corry-area businesses.
-Practical checklists for using insights in marketing, staffing, and expansion decisions.
Thanks to a grant from the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA), we will provide detailed business insights. Bring a notebook and any questions you may have about Placer.ai.
